A while back I wrote a post, where I complained about people wearing their PJ’s in public. Although I still despise this behaviour, there is something else I hate just as much:
Sweatpants in pubs…in the afternoon. What’s that all about? It’s one thing to drink in the day*; it’s one thing to drink at home in your sweatpants; it’s one thing to drink at home in the afternoon in your sweatpants…
It’s another however, to go drinking during the day at your local pub in sweatpants! You look like a wiener!
What happened to class? What happened to style? What happened to pride in appearance?
Recently, my manfriend and I decided to grab an afternoon pint. We had been shopping all afternoon and thought it would be an excellent way to complete our outing. As we were enjoying our refreshing beverages, I looked out the window and their was a couple that was walking towards the door of the lovely Irish establishment. He was in jeans. She was in her very best navy blue sweatpants. Then another couple came in, he was in grey sweat pants, she was in black sweat pants. I couldn’t believe it. What’s was going on here? Was it national wear your sweats in public day? Was I not informed that the bar had a dress code of sweatpants only? I started to think that I should leverage the People of Walmart website and start a People of Pubs website.
I mean, I get it, sometimes clothes are uncomfortable. HOWEVER there are two options for this: 1) Suck it up or 2) Stay home!
*Day drunk is my fave drunk because there’s nothing like a good day buzz and bed by 10:00pm. Sorry mom, I still like to party sometimes.
