There was about a 7 year period in my life, where I yo-yo’d between fat and medium. For the majority of that time, I was fat rather than medium, but I like to remember myself being medium. (Please keep in mind that when I say the word fat, I’m meaning it only in reference to myself.) I realize I was never that big, but for myself, and my body type…I was NOT looking good.
Exhibit A: (Fat face + Short Red Hair = BAD PHASE IN MY LIFE)
Being a Woodall, I have been blessed with very muscular, thin legs. The problem with this, is that no matter what size I am, they stay the same size. What’s that all about? You would think that putting on a quarter of a small person (25lbs), the weight would distribute somewhat evenly. Not for this girl – stick legs, round belly.
Exhibit B: (Skinny legs)
Exhibit C: (All belly)
So, if you take Exhibit B and add it to Exhibit C, you get:
Exhibit D: A Potato on Two Toothpicks
Yep…I did that.
In this phase of my life, I decided to embrace my inner potatoness and I gave my belly a voice. I would squish it together and then list off all the reasons why it was the way it was:
- Pasta…extra sauce
- Chicken nuggets
The list would go on and on. If it was beige or involved pasta/cheese, it was most likely included in the list. In truth, I’m kinda happy I experienced this in my life because that character is by far one of my best (second only to my ‘drunk mom’ impression) and every time I do that voice for my mom, it brings her to tears…the good, laughing kind of tears.
