Here’s a little story about a weekend filled with ups and downs. Actually, I’ll do it in a list of Upsides and Downsides.
Downside: I fell down a flight of cement stairs outside the Elephant and Castle.
Upside: Because I fall down stairs often, I walked with my hands in front of me and was able to continuously grab on to the railing until finally I stopped tumbling.
Downside: No one but my friend Allison saw.
Upside: She put her hands out and yelled “We’re downtown on King and no one saw that?” and the guy waiting for a cab 4 feet away turned around and laughed.
Downside: My body hurts.
Upside: I got to sing some karaoke and then dance to some awesome 90′s tunes with some good friends.
Downside: I ruined my friends party.
Upside: She thought it was kind of funny and made many jokes at my expense. I’d like to blame the weather for no one attending.
Downside: Yep…there was three of us, then Kelly went home and there was two of us.
Upside: We had a lot of fun and were able to do exactly what we wanted to that night.
Downside: Went walking around looking for art and all we found was people.
Upside: We met up with old friends at the Stones Place.
Downside: The Stones Place was a sweat box – I had to take my sweater off and dance in my undershirt
Upside: We had the best dance party of all time, where at one point I was picked up and placed on the dance floor…
Downside: …only to have the drunk girl behind me grab my boobs and freak me out. But, I think this may have been an upside for our guy friends.
Upside: Melissa and I were getting spun around and dipped all night.
Downside: One of the guys dipped my head into the speaker and I have a welt on my head.
Upside: We had a group huddle-butterfly-interpretive dance going on.
Downside: Some of the single boys didn’t get that we were just there to have a good time.
Upside: I was picked up and strummed like a guitar. Yep that’s right. Our friend picked me up and played me like a guitar. It was so much fun, that Melissa and our other friend Steve strummed me too.
Downside: My wallet was stolen out of my purse. I went to pay for the cab, and there was no wallet in my bag. I loved my wallet. It was beautiful.
Extra Downside: It was the third time my wallet got stolen. The first two times were in high school in (one time at my own party…I know who did it too – those f-ers – and one time on the train).
Upside: Things happen in three’s, so god willing, this will be the last time my wallet will get stolen.
Downside: It’s really annoying trying to recover all your documents.
Upside: We had the best Sunday. Best Sunday equals: eating too much, going for a steam room and a hot tub.
Downside: The steam room made me feel sick.
Upside: My roommate brought us cupcakes.
Downside: My check engine light went off.
Upside: It was just my gas cap.
Downside: It cost $100 for them to tell me that. What’s that all about? They should have checked that before charging me the $100.
Upside: They figured out that my breaks were completely donezo. That check engine light, may have saved my life.
Downside: It’s gonna cost me big time to get my car fixed.
All in all, the weekend netted out to being OK - had a lot of really highs, and a lot of really lows. Anyway, as you can see, my karma is all out of whack and I’m not sure what I did to upset the world to make it lash out at me so ruthlessly…needless to say I’m exhausted, I want to go see a psychic and I think I’m living the life of a Bruce Springsteen song.
If you can get passed the first 50 seconds, this get’s pretty OK. Much like my weekend.

CrystalMy dad always tells me to check that my gas cap is on properly when anything goes wrong with my car. He probably got charged $100 once for this also.

ErinI was lucky enough that I didn’t get charged for the gas cap, it was the first thing they checked! Good learning lesson though
Also, don’t go see a psychic – sometimes they put crazy thoughts in your head and then you think its a good idea. When it’s really really not.
